Note that a number of web pages that are normally viewable from within the client are currently unavailable. They will be restored in the next few days. Also note that currently you will be hitting backup.phoenixworx.org to login. This is also temporary and will be changed back once I retrieve the existing colocated server.

Also an alert for those of you who customize your TA installation. Certain guides recommend removing dlls because they are "unecessary." DO NOT DO THIS. Some of these dlls are used by PW and can cause problems if removed. If you notice game settings are not locked when hosting an IGW, try installing a fresh copy of TA without any customizations to see if it fixes the issue.

I've moved!

Yup! I've moved a whole 10 miles to a new house. Just got my computer up and running. Quite a lot of work planning, packing, coordinating everything, let me tell you. However this move brings good news for PW!

My new house qualifies for Verizon FIOS, which, if you haven't heard of it, is a fiber optic connection to your house. Verizon is the only major telecommunications company doing this in the United States. I have purchased a business connection with 5 static IP addresses. For the same price, I get the same speed as I do with my colocation, except I am not limited by rackspace. I can now include all of the computers I have at home (well not all of them...) to support PW. By delegating different parts of PW to different computers, I will be able to more easily manage and update different parts when they need it. At some point in the next few months, I will be bringing the PW server home and integrating it with the rest of my servers. At that time, I will also be upgrading the forum software to the latest version and resolve the outstanding issues on the website. Later on down the road I hope to be able to spend time working on a new client that is more reliable and supports multiple games (i.e. Supreme Commander.) Things should get interesting soon.

has been greeted with excitement and happiness, with both sides in with
a real chance to conquer all..

However, Arm is already in the lead by taking a small number of Core
controlled planets, and there is a real threat to the Core Central Consciousness with the lost of the planets due to Arm's push forward.

With Arm now going as far as Planet U04, and Planet L225545, Core is
showing no mercy in their attempts to kill off the Arm rebellion, but
are still being defeated on the battlefield. Some believe it is to do
with the newly appointed Lieutenant Commander Vapor, but others are not so sure, afterall, every win counts.

But not jumping into conclusions, the sector is still up for grabs,
Core may return to win this sector, and indeed, crush the Arm rebellion.
Both high commands have recognized the efforts of two of their highest ranking Colonels and promoted them to the ranks of Lieutenant Commander. Lieutenant Commander Vapor and Lieutenant Commander Postal have already battled on several occasions.

“Two of the three encounters I found no difficulty. However, we went head to head on Entrox, and I nearly lost,” LCM Vapor told me in an interview regarding his recent victories over LCM Postal. “I am here to devastate the planets from contention.” He remarked later. And it seems as if he is accomplishing his goal.

Indeed the battles have raged fierce, but despite their finest efforts, Core has been pushed back, and it seems as if all is lost for Core as they continue to fight across war torn planets. Entrox has changed hands several times, and Nox III has even become contested.

“The new recruits are learning as best they can,” LCM Vapor remarked about the newer Arm enlistees and officers. “[CM] Wings has been trying to gain experience, as well as [SGM] Rebun. Silencer has just joined our ranks and will be a major threat to Core when he gets his [battles].”

Several other Arm have been busy fighting Core alongside their latest Commander. But Core has not been without its own small victories. “[COL] Venom is the only threat now that [CMD] Wargod has retired from service. I feel he will destroy the lower ranks, but have a tough time with the commanders,” LCM Vapor added regarding the Core threats.

Regardless, LCM Vapor is confident. “The last Core planet in contention, I will break it for Arm High Command. It is my purpose for being here.”

“This sector is over.”

reporting from Perfeus. Arm Sergeant Major OBSESSION and Core Colonel
Venom fought the deciding battle, of the majority control of this
planet.

The battle went well
for Core and showed that they will not go without a fight, and can
still win this Galaxy. Core Colonel Venom showed OBSESSION how it is
done as he clobbered him with the might of the Core
military.

With the Galaxy in
the Grip of total Arm power, Core needs every win they can get, and it
showed here. With a huge percentage of this planet now covered by Core,
it seems Perfeus is virtually a core world.

I would just like to say good luck to both Arm, and Core. And I will continue to report on this war.

In a sneak move, Core high command sent Private Irma on a mission to secure the portion of the planet, not expecting any resistance, not actually realizing how strategically important it was in their battle plan. Arm however recognized the dangerous potential that Private Irma posed to their strategic hold on Hermes, and responded by sending Colonel Vapor in to defend.

The battle started almost immediately as Colonel Vapor sent a surprise bomber in over the rocks. Striking key resources, the bomber returned to base for repairs. Private Irma responded to the threat, and immediately started building Slashers, but the damage had already been done. Moments later the same bomber came streaking in, and the Slasher’s missiles burst through the fuselage, and the Thunder smashed into the mountainside a brilliant, incandescent fireball.

Recognizing the scarcity of surface metal, Colonel Vapor began construction of his fusion plant to power his Moho Metal Maker, while continuing to bomb Private Irma’s factories and resources.

Not long afterwards, Colonel Vapor marched the first of his Mavericks into the carpet bombed base. It encountered little resistance as it made its way though the wreckage. Finding the commander, the Mavericks opened fire. Private Irma’s pattern was just barely beamed from the commander unit as it exploded in typical nuclear style, and Arm held its ground.

Core High Command commended Private Irma for bravery for facing such a High Ranking and dangerous opponet without retreat.

Arm High Command did not comment on the battle, stating strategic reasons.

They have already made a
lot of progress towards Nox III and Moor, and they
seem just about unstoppable.

The Arm builders are already making Baiton a milestone
in their fight for the sector, and are wasting no time
in doing so: already, there is an output from here
that can rival some of Arms other mega resource
planets, and it shows no end.

Before I was shipped to Baiton, I was in the Core
camps on Zenobia, and the troops there were not
expecting such an onslaught at Baiton, and were very
unprepared for the attacks coming from Baiton. Zenobia
may be another planet lost to the Arm resistance if
Core cannot find their feet again on this planet.

Overall the sector is beginning to look favourable
towards the Arm resistance, and it seems Core is
losing planets very quickly. From what I gather, Core
Colonel Postal has been fighting valiantly, but has
been beaten on many occasions by Arm Colonel Vapor.

I managed to speak briefly with Core Colonel Postal
about his recent defeats. "Those who accuse me of
single handedly losing the sector are those who are
sitting idly on the side, not fighting for Core. They
can point fingers all they want, but when the Arm
attack comes then we'll find who truly has the ability
to stop this onslaught," he told me.

Core Colonel Venom has been defending the Core Hold of
this sector from Arm Sergeant 1st Class Webzta.

More News Is To Come.

…END TRANSMISION…

New Website Now Official

With registration and clans working, I've decided to make the new site official. There are still pages to add, namely Help and some TA-related pages, but so far it looks pretty good!
