New Client Release

I have released an updated client.  It will be downloaded automatically by the autoupdater.  There are no changes in the client except for official support for the TA: Escalation mod.  Configuration of the mod in the PhoeniX WorX Client is done by going to Options>Config>Mods and pointing the client to the location of the mod installation.  For best results, you should have a separate TA installation for each mod you want to play on PW.  PW officially supports the the following mods (in addition to unmodded "OTA"): Switeck's Bugfix (BF), UberHack (UH), XTA, and now TA: Escalation (ESC).  If anyone would like to see additional mods added to the client, please send me an e-mail at nmdange@phoenixworx.org

Menu Fix

Finally resolved the issue with the menu on the left.  IE8 and Firefox will now show the sub-menus properly.  Any other issues with the website, please let me know.

We're back!

It's been over a week but PW is finally back up and running.  I experienced a failure in the UPS that powers the server rack.  It took a week to get a replacement sent to me under warranty (which is better than having to pay for a new one!)  I didn't want to risk running the system without battery backup or surge protection, so I kept PW down until it arrived.

I apologize for the extended downtime, but hopefully this won't happen again anytime soon!

Outage

In case anyone was wondering why PW was down for almost 2 days, we had a bad storm here which took out both power and the fiber to my house.  Power was restored in about 18 hours, but it took another 12 hours for Verizon to fix the internet issue.

Registration

There appears to have been a configuration issue with the mail server, so if you were trying to register recently and did not get the confirmation e-mail, please try again now.  If you have any trouble, just send me an e-mail at nmdange@phoenixworx.org

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Upgrade and server move

On Friday evening, I switched PW over fully to my home-based server network.  A number of behind-the-scenes upgrades happened, along with a new version of the forum software.  The upgrade should resolve a number of issues with the website.  If you do have any problems, please report them on the forums.  I also made one modification to the reporting.  If you have problems with a game, you will no longer need to save the output from View>Last Report.  This is now fully logged in the database should I need it.  Please report any incorrect games to me along with as best a description as possible as to what happened.  (e.g. if someone disconnected.)

Note that a number of web pages that are normally viewable from within the client are currently unavailable.  They will be restored in the next few days.  Also note that currently you will be hitting backup.phoenixworx.org to login.  This is also temporary and will be changed back once I retrieve the existing colocated server.

Also an alert for those of you who customize your TA installation.  Certain guides recommend removing dlls because they are "unecessary."  DO NOT DO THIS.  Some of these dlls are used by PW and can cause problems if removed.  If you notice game settings are not locked when hosting an IGW, try installing a fresh copy of TA without any customizations to see if it fixes the issue.

Updated TA Server

I've made some updates to the reporting on the TA server in response to the reports people have sent me.  So I'm in need of new ones now, whether the game counts or not.  Thanks to those who sent them in!

New Client Release

I've released a new client version.  I believe I have eliminated the game list bug and also a number of memory leaks.  The client should no longer leak like a sieve, though it still leaks a bit unfortunately!

If you get any access violations, please let me know.  I had some issues with them while I was trying to clean up some of those leaks, but I'm pretty sure I fixed them.

Looking for game reports

I've added some additional logging to the report output that gets sent to the client when a game ends.  If you believe your reporter misreported something, or just think your report is interesting, please send me the output from View>Last Report.  (Note that you cannot retrieve this report if you disconnect from PW after the game is over.)  I'm hoping to be able to use this to improve the accuracy of the reporter.

New Website Now Official

With registration and clans working, I've decided to make the new site official.  There are still pages to add, namely Help and some TA-related pages, but so far it looks pretty good!

If you see any problems, go to the forums or Page me in the client.

Welcome to the new PW Website!

I'm still working out all the kinks, but it's shaping up nicely.  For now I have copied the original website's design, but this time, no flash!
