Pizza [pi] Changed Client skin, now I can't even start it!

Hi, I was messing around with the client skins and I changed them to "original"(just to see what it was like) and now when I start the client, I get loads of "access violation" errors and after I click "O.K." on them, the client exits! Meaning that I can't even change back! Please offer me some helpSad [:(]

    Thank you, regards Flynn

    Cool [H] I fixed it!

All I had to do was delete a file called "PP" and I can log in and everything! Hopefully this will help someone else now I've figured out how to do it.

    Re: I fixed it!

Yes, there seems to be a problem with this. When you change skins or icon sets and don't have them downloaded (as in the big client file, which includes all skins and icon sets), the updater needs to download these. The client asks if you want to restart it to initialize the new skin/icon set. The updater should now download this. However, there seems to be a problem here, which results in the client starting and looking for a skin/icon set that isn't there, which results in this error.

My guess is that what you did was delete the file called pp.ini. This file contains all settings for the client, including which skin and icon set to use. When you deleted this and started the client, the client then recreated this file with the default settings, and that's why it worked for you. You could also have opened the file and changed skin/icon set name to "TA" without the quotes (both the default skin and default icon set are named TA). This would have the client look for the default skin/icon set, and thus it works.

This is something that needs to be fixed.

Idea [I] An idea to fix fast

A fast idea to fix: if a skin causes any error while loading, the client should restore the default skin before is closes itself and prompt the user to fix the error before he tries to use that skin again. Alternatively prompt the user with a dialog box to choose another skin, if the error was caused by the default one.
