For clarification purposes, red ranks are rank index 10 for enlisted, rank index 18 for officers and rank index 30 for commanders as seen on the
rank table, which is also found under Misc. Info in the client. In other words, the ranks with a red background color. When you meet the requirements for one of these ranks, and someone already holds it, you may challenge that person for the rank. Consult the
rank table for more details on the requirements.
There is a set of rules governing this process, and they are as follows:
- The winner is the best of three (3) games.
- Players may go on to play more than three games should they wish to do so, or the loser may rechallenge for the rank, but for two weeks after a challenge, the winner and current rankholder is free to refuse.
- Both players pick one map each, and agree on a third. If players cannot agree on the third map, a moderator will choose one for them.
- If the current rankholder is not around to defend his rank, the rank will go to the challenger after a reasonable amount of time.
- If the rankholder refuses to meet the challenge, the challenge is considered lost and the challenger gets the rank. The exception is the two-week rule as explained in ยง2.
If a situation arises that requires clarification but isn't covered by this set of rules, consult a moderator.
The main idea is of course for both players to have a fair chance, and to agree on a winner without any fuzz.
