    everlasting ERROR

    Hello guys,

My brother and I recently discovered TA, and are becoming big fans of it. Now, we would like to try and play against each other, via the internet, and also with other people. Now check out the problem he continues to have:

-He lives in another place than me, we both have different connections

-He installed the patch 3.1; and phoenix, just like me

    -He created an account

-However, when he wants to create a game, or join a game, NOTHING happens. In my case, TA starts up and I go automatically to the multiplayer room of TA. In his case, nothing happens at all.

What can we do about this? Please, help us, we would enjoy becoming part of the TA community here.

    Greet, Franklin Demarquez

    Re: everlasting ERROR

Nothing happens, as in TA doesn't launch? That means the client cannot find TA, specifically totala.exe, which in turn means there's a problem with the registry entry for TA (which is where the client looks for the path to TA). He will need to run a registry fix, or manually edit in the correct path to TA using regedit.

    Start > Run > regedit + enter

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectPlay\Applications\Total Annihilation\

Change the values of the "Path" and "CurrentDirectory" entries to whatever the path to his TA installation is (ex.: C:\Cavedog\Totala\). If they do not exist, create new ones and name them as mentioned (right click > New > String Value).

Alternatively he could just reinstall TA, so that the installation creates the correct entries in the registry.
