I haven't played TA since the late 1990s and never played online before. I thought to relive TA and play a bit online. I learn about BoneYards & PhoenixWorx and think it's quite cool. The thing really needed is a newbie / beginners guide to getting started. I was pretty confused that when we sign up we have to manually go to the Profiles Settings and pick a side, and pick a rank. I was confused which rank is the correct rank and what side-effects one gets from chosing different ranks.

Another thing was it wasn't clear that once we chose a side & rank, it cannot be changed. A useful advice would be to notify the user to use two different accounts if they wish to play both sides. Also, let them know that they can change sides when the galaxy/zone changes.

The http://www.phoenixworx.org/kb.aspx URL from "Help > KB" is down.

Would be helpful to say to ensure one has all approved maps from http://www.phoenixworx.org/ta/maps.aspx?search=

For the port forward router sticky.

No you do not really need to port forward the 2300-2400 range. Just only need TCP 2300 & UDP 2350... plus TCP/UDP 47624 (4 ports in total). Some NAT routers cannot do port ranges (eg. D-Link, DrayTek). If you have a direct conneciton to the internet (no router) then all your ports are open and don't need to forward any ports (assuming software firewall is setup).

So please PW admins correct your sticky post to help relief many players who were unable to host in the past because they could not port forward ranges.

Ok everyone, stand back I'm unveiling a code I made for PhoeniX WorX, I know you wouldn't create a Finnish forum on this board just for a few people, so I devised a genous code that will add several different languages to the PW website, PW forums, and possibly even the PW client. It instantly translate the entire website and forums from English to Spanish or Finnish or German or French or Italian or Japanese or any other language. All the foreign person has to do is click on the flag of the country!!!!!!!!!!!!

Replace whats in red with the url of the forums, and put it on the forums if you want it on the forums to. This code works for the PW website & forums.

I'm lookin' around for some good mods. Specifically, I'm looking for a mod which increases the maximum amount of units, and a mod which grands superior endgame content, like more powerful energy generators, metal miners, combat units and stationary turrets. I've read about a feature which lets you turn off the mod off so that you can play online without any conflicts.

Anyone know of some easy to install mods that more or less equate to those specs?

Hi,

I've got all the TA stuff I need: BT, CC, patch 3.1c etc. etc. I wanted to play online so I downloaded the small client. After that i figured out I needed to portal forward my ip and stuff. I used PFconfig and everything seemed okay. I logged into Phoenix Project and everytime I join a game I get this error: Timed out while connecting to DirectPlay lobby.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can somebody help me!

Most people here don't know about G-NOME I think. It is a great game, it has mechs in it, or you can fight on foot. It's mainly only multiplayer, however there are 22 training/campaign missions (or is it 15). It has server support and buddy lists (buddy lists via Xfire)
